Presentation: Computer Room Air Conditioning
Large Data Center Cooling applications have many different air handling and primary cooling options. This presentation discusses in depth the advantages and disadvantages of various methods of cooling including chilled water, indirect and direct evaporative cooling and direct expansion (refrigerant). The presentation will then take a deeper dive into indirect and direct evaporative cooling as appropriate for dry climates such as New Mexico. Finally, a review of the basic control strategies for large data center applications will conclude the presentation

About the Speaker
Tifft Gannon is the Strategic Sales Manager for Liebert Thermal Management, where his primary responsibility involve assisting customers in conceptual design work for large data center projects. Prior to this role he was the Liebert AHU Product Manager overseeing product development and key product launches. Before joining Emerson, he had over 8 years in account management experience with a large HVAC equipment and controls manufacturer. There Tifft gained experience in the commercial application of chilled water and air handler equipment, as well as the associated system level controls. Tifft holds a BS in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University.
